Oneness of God

Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,..."(Luke 24:45). The revelation of Oneness and its understanding is given to those of whom Christ has chosen. In John chapter 1 we understand that the Word is God's own-revelation, own-expression, or own-disclosure. The Word was the absolute thought, reason, plan, or mind of God, before the Incarnation. In the beginning, the Word was with God, not as a separate and distinct person but as God Himself. In the fullness of time God put flesh on the Word; God revealed Himself in flesh. The word was made flesh, in the person of Jesus Christ,(John 1:14). And God was manifested in the flesh, (1 Timothy 3:16). What has been said is this: The eternal Word was revealed in the only begotten Son.

Now, the Holy Spirit Title refers to God in Spiritual essence and activity, describing the fundamental character of God's nature. Because God is a Spirit, this Title is particularly used of works that God does; such as anointing, regenerating, indwelling, and sanctifying humanity. (Please read the following; Genesis 1:1-2; Acts 1:5-8)

God's plan of redemption for the fallen human family requires the three roles of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost (spirit). Here is the revealing of this mystery; In order to save fallen man, God provided a sinless Man who could die in our place, The Son. In begetting the son and in relating to humanity, God is the Father. and in working in the lives of the human family; to empower and transform them, God is the Holy Ghost.

We must understand that the titles of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost describe the multiple roles and works of God, but they do not reflect an essential threeness in God's nature. Father refers to God in family relationship to humanity. Son refers to God in the Flesh. Spirit refers to God in activity. To give you and example a man can have three important functions or relationships; such as father, son, and husband and yet be one person in every sense. God cannot be defined by nor can He be limited to only an essential threeness.

Be it known unto you, that the Oneness Doctrine is that the name of Jesus, which means Jehovah-Saviour. IS the supreme salvation name by which God has revealed Himself to Humanity and it IS the redemptive name in the New Testament. (Read: Matthew 1:21; Luke 24:47; Acts 4:12; and 10:43; Phil. 2:9-11; Col. 3:17.) The Apostles always baptized by invoking the name of Jesus, and the Church of today should do the same thing. (Read: Acts 2:38, 8:16, 10:48, 19:3-5, and 22:16; Romans 6:3-4; 1 Cor. 1:13 and 6:11). Jesus is the fullness of God incarnate, and the Name (singular) of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost as described in Matthew 28:19 IS Jesus. (Read: Matt. 1:21; Luke 24:47; John 5:43 and 14:26).
